Abstract

|
Here presented a case of breast cancer who developed acute myelogenous leukemia
(M1) 4 years after the start of chemotherapy. The patient wart 47-year-old housewife
and was admitted to Severance Hospital due to high fever, general weakness, and
multiple erythematous skin eruptions. She had a modified radical mastectomy B years
previously for infiltrating ductal cell carcinoma of the right breast. She had received
radiation therapy, 2,400¡5,000R in total to 5 bites respectively and melphalan as
adjuvant chemotherapy, postoperatively until admission (40 months of duration). (On
admission, she had septic pneumonia but there was no evidence of recurrent breast
cancer. The bone marrow wart diagnostic of acute myelogenous leukemia without
myelofibrosis. She wart discharged moribund despite of antibiotics and supportive care.
